Solution Assessment Program

The Solutions Assessment Program helps organizations craft sustainable solutions based on a defined scope of work and could even lead to efficient deployment of other items that may be on your organization’s roadmap. SHI’s expert-led assessments equip you for optimal deployment and adoption while realizing long-term value from Microsoft cloud investments and services.

In conjunction with the Partner Investment Engine (PIE) and the Azure Migration and Modernization Program (AMMP), one of the biggest things that the Solutions Assessment Program can do is assist with your Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF). When delivering on any of the funding programs through PIE and AMMP, eligible organizations may also get solution assessment funding on the services they’re leveraging with SHI through the following three programs:

i. Azure Migration Engagement

ii. Azure Foundation Assessment

iii. Contract Optimization

i. Azure Migration Engagement

The Azure Migration Engagement with SHI is designed to deliver an in-depth identification and analysis of a specific workload or application for migration to Azure including an architecture design and migration plan. Cost estimates are also included with 1 and 3-year options across pay-as-you-go, Azure Use Benefit (AHUB) and Reserved Instances.

By deploying SHI’s proprietary solution we can begin the data collection process to provide this analysis to you with recommendations for next steps to move to Azure. Eligible workloads or applications could include WS/SQL 2008 End of Support, Disaster Recovery, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), Application Innovation, Non-Production workloads and more!

ii. Azure Foundation Assessment

With the Azure Foundation Assessment, SHI can provide your organization with a comprehensive review of your datacenter environment to put our experts in a strong position to provide cloud readiness, prioritization of workloads for migration to Azure, detailed cost consumption estimates and recommendations for governance.

SHI’s Azure Foundation Assessment is designed for customers who:

Need to migrate to the cloud, but do not know where to start
Need to understand the financial impact of moving to the cloud
Need to assess end of support servers and prioritization workloads to accelerate migration

As an approved Migration Solution Assessment Partner of Microsoft, SHI will need to do work with a dedicated Project Manager at your organization to sign off on project timelines and deployment of SHI’s assessment toolfor the assessment to be completed and ensure a successful engagement.

iii. Contract Optimization

In the Contract Optimization Solutions Assessment, SHI helps customers align their true-up or contract renewals to a cloud ready state by offering advice for the right contract licensing to support your organizations business strategy. Customers should start an Optimization Engagement 6 months prior to their Microsoft Agreement renewal date. Organizations with the following questions would benefit from the Contract Optimization Solution Assessment:

How much software you have deployed?
What entitlements you own?
Whether you have a potential license compliance risk?
Whether deployed software is being used?
How entitlements reconcile with usage?
Whether you are spending too much?

As a certified Solution Assessment and Optimization Engagement Partner with Microsoft, SHI’s Optimized License Position service optimize your Microsoft Investment by using a four-stage methodology. Our licensing experts will establish your licensing position for your Microsoft 365 workloads and deliver recommendations on how to optimize it. The team will:

Analyze your entitlements to create a single, reliable view of your license positions.
Provide discovery and inventory assessments to help your organization uncover your company-wide software deployments.
Conduct a reconciliation and analysis to assist in better understanding your license position.
Deliver actionable insights and optimization recommendations for all options across the platforms and apps.
