Optimize time-to-uptime with the supermarket aisle

At SHI, we’ve developed a concept we call the “supermarket aisle,” where mostly completed full rack builds are securely parked, pending final configuration, quality control, and shipment.

This concept is built on the idea that many components in a rack build are site or project-neutral. Those components are racked and configured to the furthest possible extent. We then add site- or project-specific components just prior to shipment. This method reduces the time to ship from days to hours, depending on the complexity of the remaining configuration.

Rack requirements are flexible to support a global customers with varying power requirements in different countries

SHI can prepare the rack and validate the build with standard PDUs, installing the final components and revalidating once the power requirement is identified

To avoid delivery delays, SHI can pre-build the rack, validate the build with a loaner switch, install the required switch when stock arrives, and revalidate prior to shipping
