Few people could have predicted our rapid embrace of the hybrid work environment. Perhaps even more surprising: We are all pretty good at it. People have adapted. Businesses have long since pivoted. And so has IT.
In our adjusted new world, IT departments have kicked into high gear, delivering ambitious new hybrid working solutions worldwide, including droves of laptops, personal smart devices, headsets, and webcams. New collaboration tools are rolled out in record speed, and video meetings are the new norm – along with the occasional interruption of the family cat.
But with growing return-to-office requirements and a partially dispersed workforce, IT teams are not equipped to remotely manage and configure entire fleets of corporate devices. Procurement teams are struggling with shortages, delays, and logistical nightmares; corporate networks are buckling under the pressure to keep operating systems and software secure. One thing is clear: Workplace infrastructure needs a management overhaul.
